Mission

ELEVATE
SLOVAKIA INITIATIVE

The strategic mission of the ELEVATE initiative is to create a unified collaborative ecosystem between the state, local government, academia and the private sector that enables the development and testing of autonomous technologies, removing legislative barriers, fostering innovation and enhancing Slovakia's attractiveness to talent and investors.

Areas of Technology

Artificial Intelligence

AI is at the heart of digital transformation. In the ELEVATE project, it helps process large amounts of data, optimise decision-making and create autonomous systems capable of learning, reacting and predicting situations in real time.

Autonomous drones

We focus on testing unmanned systems capable of autonomously delivering packages, monitoring territories or intervening in crisis situations such as rescuing tourists in high mountain conditions. Pilot projects are testing their functionality under various factors and their interconnection with AI, logistics and real-time data centres.

Robotics

The implementation of autonomous transport is one of the key pillars of the ELEVATE initiative, coordinated by the Slovak Ministry of Transport. The focus is on testing vehicles that can move autonomously, safely and smoothly in both urban and inter-urban environments.

Cloud and data centres

Data is at the heart of autonomous technologies. ELEVATE works with cloud platforms that enable the rapid transfer of information, with modern data centres designed to process and store it. We are testing an infrastructure that will enable autonomous systems to operate securely, efficiently and scalably in real time.

Energy Efficiency

The future of technology must not only be smart, but also sustainable. At ELEVATE, we emphasize the use of low-emission and renewable energy sources as the basis for the operation of autonomous systems, data centers and logistics solutions. Energy efficiency must be one of the pillars in the implementation of autonomous mobility in Slovakia.

Autonomous delivery

Bratislava – Staré mesto

Drony

As part of the ELEVATE pilot projects, we are testing the delivery of parcels in an urban environment, in cooperation with the Slovak Post in the Bratislava - Staré mesto test polygon. The aim is to verify the functionality and efficiency of these systems in the delivery of goods or documents, with an emphasis on their integration into the urban ecosystem.

Autonomous transport

The project of autonomous cars is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the Slovak AI development platform DIUSai. The pilot project is divided into 5 polygons, within which we will work on removing legislative barriers, verifying the functionality of the technology, and safe integration into the existing infrastructure.

Drony

ELEVATE focuses on integrating autonomous drones into the wider ecosystem. As part of the pilot project, we will be testing these drones in a high mountain environment in collaboration with the Mountain Rescue Service in the High Tatras Polygon.

SCHEDULE
Elevate 2025 Initiative Schedule
The idea behind the initiative is to create a functional ecosystem that connects public administration, local governments, the business community, and the academy to facilitate the testing and deployment of advanced technologies into mainstream operations.Within the pilot projects, there is an ambition to identify challenges for the safe introduction of autonomous mobility in Slovakia, to accelerate the legislative processes for its implementation in real life, and also to support Slovak innovative technology companies and young talents.
Q1
MoU
The signing of the Memorandum by five strategic partners - the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic, the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Slovak Post, the capital city of Bratislava and the technology partner DiusAi, which formalized the ELEVATE initiative.
Q2
Feasibility study
The study defines suitable locations, scenarios and technological solutions, identifies obstacles and proposes concrete recommendations for overcoming them. It serves as a basis for the implementation of pilot projects and the preparation of the systematic development of autonomous mobility.
Q3
Pilot run
The pilot run is the core of the ELEVATE project in 2025. We are testing the functionality of autonomous technologies - from delivery robots and drones to autonomous cars - in real-world conditions. The focus is on their safety, reliability and integration into existing infrastructure.
Q4
Final report
The content is an evaluation of the whole pilot year of the ELEVATE initiative. It focuses on the analysis of the results of the autonomous technology tests, identifying both successful scenarios and obstacles to be removed. The document contains concrete recommendations for legislative changes, technical standards, infrastructure requirements and further steps towards the safe and sustainable development of autonomous mobility in Slovakia.
